Develop Your Picture Book with Published Authors and Illustrators

You have an idea for a story...

But you’re not sure what to do next. How do you develop your story? What about character design? What if you don’t know how to draw? What if you want your story to rhyme but don't know what meter is?

Yeah, there’s a lot that goes into making a picture book, and it can feel intimidating. But you are determined to tell your story. You have stories inside of you.

Instead of spinning your wheels over how to fix your story, come spend the day with published authors and illustrators who will show you how to develop your picture book step by step.

Here's What You'll Learn Each Session:

OUR HISTORY

We Learn. We Make Stories. We Give Back.

Arree Chung founded Storyteller Academy in 2017 with a single course on how to make picture book stories and dummies. Since then, hundreds of storytellers have taken Storyteller Academy courses to hone their craft. Elaine Kearns, LaRonda Gardner Middlemiss, Vicky Fang, Marla Lesage, and Abi Cushman have received publishing contracts for their stories.

Our mission is to help aspiring Storytellers learn the art of storytelling by sharing our creative process intimately. And that's exactly what we'll do with "Picture Book Bootcamp." In this one-day workshop, we'll be sharing what we've learned as published authors and illustrators.

All proceeds from the Picture Book Bootcamp will go to charity. Our goal this year is to donate $15,000 to First Book.

Our mission is to raise $15,000 dollars for First Book and to give out over 1,500 picture books for free.

First Book transforms the lives of children by providing books and basic needs to underserved communities.
